According to Wikipedia, the definition of 'Lucid dreaming' is the following:
Lucid dream - A lucid dream is a type of dream in which the dreamer becomes aware that they are dreaming while dreaming. During a lucid dream, the dreamer may gain some amount of control over the dream characters, narrative, or environment.
IS IT A SIN FOR CHRISTIANS TO LUCID DREAM?
So, here we will be answering the following questions, "Is having a lucid dream a sin?" and "Is it wrong to lucid dream?" and "Should a Christian practice lucid dreaming?"
Technically, there is nothing ‘wrong’ with lucid dreaming in itself. I mean really…there isn’t anything overtly sinful about suddenly becoming aware that you are dreaming or realizing that you may be able to have a level of control within that dream. One might even say that having the ability to thoroughly explore the contents of a dream, with an interactive curiosity, could potentially have some revelatory benefits to the dreamer!
Another potentially positive take on having a lucid dream is that it could possibly make you aware of demonic spirits that may be at work to trip you up in your day to day life. There is, however, a VERY serious fine line when it comes to lucid dreaming. So, I encourage you to do your very best to pay close attention to the information that I will be providing here.
LUCID DREAM DECISIONS AND ACTIVITIES (WHEN YOU THINK NO ONE IS LOOKING)
One thing to consider, is that for many people, the decisions that they tend to make within their dreams are sometimes a little more on the uninhibited side of things, rather than the decisions that they would usually make when they are wide awake. So, if you are having a lucid dream and make the decision to use that dream to take part in sinful activities that you think are ok - because, after all, it’s just a dream and no one will ever know about what you did - then that very likely is revealing a sin or spirit that is present in your life that needs to be dealt with. You need to go to God and repent! For example, if you are using lucid dreams to have inappropriate sexual flings in those dreams, then that is sinful.
LUCID DREAMING THROUGH AN OCCULTIC GATEWAY
A lucid dream can also potentially be a sin if it is something that you are attempting to achieve through either new age or other occult practice. If you actively take steps with the intention of them leading you towards having a lucid dream or some other form of out of body experience while being involved in any new age or occult practices, then that is not of God. Remember that lucid dreaming is not by nature of the occult. However, lucid dreams are used by people in the occult.
Basically, lucid dreams are a fairly normal experience within many people’s dream life. In fact, in some instances, they could even use music in their dream to take authority over demonic challenges that attempt to come against them. And, again, while lucid dreams are not by themselves a sin, the content of a lucid dream along with the choices that you make within one can be quite revelatory of any sin that may be at work within your life.
LUCID DREAMING AND ITS CONNECTION TO SLEEP PARALYSIS
And, I must add as an additional detail, that there are numerous reports from people who have given account of their attempt at lucid dreaming who report that upon their attempt, they almost immediately experienced a sleep paralysis attack. There are subreddits FULL of people who have shared their personal accounts of this happening to them when they attempted to lucid dream - and most often it occurred on their first try!
Now...why is this concerning? Well, as we already discussed, sleep paralysis as a spiritual occurrence is a clear manifestation of demonic activity and typically occurs when a doorway to the demonic is opened. One of the most prominent causes of sleep paralysis is the practice of witchcraft which includes new age, occult activities, divination of any kind, or any other pagan activities. - *See the section that I wrote specifically about 'Sleep Paralysis' for a more comprehensive list of causes.
Common sense would dictate that if a demon is granted that type of access and control over a person when they are attempting an activity (in this case lucid dreaming), then you can better believe that it is not a Godly thing for them to be doing. Therefore, Christians should not use lucid dreaming for any divination reasons, as the Word of God warns us not to participate in this type of activity. Clearly, it is sin.

Leviticus 20:27 NLT
“Men and women among you who act as mediums or who consult the spirits of the dead must be put to death by stoning. They are guilty of a capital offense.”
—
Deuteronomy 18:10-12 NLT
“For example, never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering. And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord. It is because the other nations have done these detestable things that the Lord your God will drive them out ahead of you.”

LUCID DREAMING CAN OPEN DOORS THAT WILL LEAD YOU AWAY FROM GOD
Again, If you do choose to do this type of thing, it opens a door to the demonic within your life, and you will begin to come under the influence of deceptive spirits that want nothing more than to harm you and lead you away from the Lord and His ways, and away from His perfect plan and will for your life.
PUT YOUR TRUST IN GOD AND NOTHING ELSE
If there is something that God wants to show you, you better believe that He will! And, yes, you CAN ask Him to show you in a dream. Always be listening for His voice, though, so when He speaks, you can properly yield to what He tells you.
We are to put ALL of our faith in God - trusting Him with every aspect of our lives.
After all, He is the one who created your brain in all of its intricacies. So, it is best for you to just trust Him with the content of your dreams, instead of seeking to commandeer your dreams for your own purposes and desires.
WHAT SPIRIT IS BEING YIELDED TO?
This is an important question to ask yourself if you ever find yourself inside a dream during which you discover that you have any type of 'free will'...such as in a lucid dream.
If this is the case, you must ask yourself, "Are the choices I am either faced with or needing to make, coming as challenges from a Godly source or are they rooted in or derived from a sinful source?"
In a previous section, I talked about how when our body is asleep, our spirit is not. This is why it is very important to be strong of spirit, and to make sure that you are always wearing the full armor of God. Because in situations where temptations may come, yes, even in the form of a dream, or in this case, a 'lucid dream', you do not want to find out (after the dream) that you yielded to the temptation that came against your mind and your spirit as you sleep. For example, you may very well be someone who would never accept or make inappropriate advances on someone else. But if presented with an opportunity to do so in a dream, you find yourself rationalizing it and going through with such actions. This reveals a serious hole in your spiritual armor.
Whatever is hidden, must be brought to light so that it can be dealt with spiritually before that very thing shows up to deal with you in the flesh. You see, dreams have a way of exposing the very things that we need to deal with. Just make sure that when something is exposed to you through your dreams, you act quickly and don't allow that thing to hang around for very long. You should never be tolerant of any type of sin in your life!
PAY ATTENTION
So, to summarize, your dreams ‘can be’ accurately used as spiritual compasses, magnifying glasses, and thermometers to reveal things in your life that you may not even be aware of. And lucid dreams are really no different.
