Sleep Paralysis | Learn About Dreams

If you have experienced this at one time or another in your life, it is definitely not something that you would easily forget. The sensation of being strangely gripped by panic and fear and being in a place of being halfway between being asleep and awake; sometimes feeling as if you cannot breathe. When in this state, you are unable to move or speak, and have the desire to cry out for help but can't. Often times, while experiencing sleep paralysis, people will report that they sensed or heard some type of presence in the room, with some even saying they here a voice speak to them or that they here maniacal laughing. Some even feel as though it is someone or 'something' that is physically holding them down, and can feel movement around their body. But still while all of these things are taking place, they are completely frozen and unable to move or speak. 

This is what is referred to as 'sleep paralysis'. And while there are some that believe it is an issue that is neurological based, there is a lot of historical data that reveals that it has long been considered to be a spiritual event, more accurately, a demonic attack. Here, we will briefly discuss each point, and tell you what you can do about it if you have or are personally experiencing these 'attacks' of sleep paralysis. 

SLEEP PARALYSIS ATTACKS THAT ARE SEXUAL IN NATURE

Before I go on any further, I feel that I must add that if you experience sleep paralysis with an 'entity' that does things to you that are of a sexual nature, then I will soon be covering this issue as well in more detail. I am currently working on an article about spiritual sexual attacks in the night (or while you're sleeping). This section will be titled, 'SPIRIT SPOUSES: INCUBUS, SUCCUBUS, LILITH, ETC,' and I encourage you to read it if you are experiencing any type of sexual attack while sleeping, or when you go to bed. When this article is finally completed and released, there will be a post about its release on our Facebook page, and an email will go out to all of our subscribers (You can subscribe to our email mailing list here ☺).

MEDICAL CAUSES OF SLEEP PARALYSIS

The science of Sleep Paralysis is somewhat extensive. It is said that the majority of people who experience sleep paralysis are already experiencing some other form of sleep disorder(s) such as narcolepsy. There is also information that has linked occurrences of sleep paralysis to increased levels of stress in a person's life, as well as experiencing trauma. For now, that's as far as I will go on the medical theories about what causes sleep paralysis, and perhaps at a later date I share more about this topic from a medical point of view. And while I do have extensive medical knowledge about a large variety of things, I feel I must add here that the medical field is not my field of expertise. And, more importantly, that is not what we are discussing here, anyways. If you haven't already noticed, at least on this website, I tend to look at things more through a spiritual lens. Which is a field I am much more equipped to handle.

SPIRITUAL CAUSES OF SLEEP PARALYSIS 

There is an interesting pattern amongst people who experience Sleep paralysis. A large percentage of people who have experienced sleep paralysis in their life, have (or have had) personal struggles with fear, anxiety, panic attacks, and other similar issues. When you look at the overall issue of Sleep Paralysis through a Spiritual lens, versus a scientific one, you can see that the source of these attacks may potentially be taking place because of a spiritual oppression of fear. Another interesting indicator about the potential source of sleep paralysis, is that when people are finally able to speak during an attack, saying the Name of Jesus causes the paralysis to abruptly stop. This would overwhelmingly suggest that it is a spiritual event that is demonic in nature due to the demon ceasing its attack at the mention of the authoritative Name of Jesus.

What can open the door to attacks like this?

There are many things that are potentially able to open up the door to demonic sleep paralysis attacks in the night. But we are going to focus on the most common causes here. The following are spiritual doors that can invite a Sleep Paralysis attack - Note that the ‘spirit of fear’ and witchcraft are often major players here.

        15 THINGS THAT MAY OPEN THE DOOR TO ATTACKS OF SLEEP PARALYSIS

1. Participation in New Age Practices — it’s Witchcraft.
2. Practicing witchcraft in any form — Witchcraft is an illegal access to the spirit realm. The only legal access to the supernatural is through the Holy Spirit!
3. Both white magic AND dark magic — They’re both witchcraft.
4. Rocks, candles, crystals, burning sage, etc. — Witchcraft.
5. Doing Yoga — Yoga is a pagan-based spiritual practice which makes agreements with demons witch each pose. It is a bad practice even if you’re meditating on Jesus during it, and yes, it's a bad practice even if you’re ‘just doing the stretches’ - you cannot simply change the spiritual meaning of an ancient demonic (pagan) practice at your own will! Don't be a bonehead!
6. Lucid Dreaming — This is activity is a form of witchcraft that can open the door to experiencing sleep paralysis attacks.
7. Dream Catchers — Witchcraft/pagan practice that invites demons.
8. Astrology — Outright witchcraft. It's is god that sets your destiny, and writes down the plan for your life. Not the universe! following astrology give demons permission to control certain aspects of your life, which is always a double edged sword. Anything that seems good in witchcraft, will ALWAYS turn bad, or it will invite something worse than what it is supposed to fix or correct. Do not follow astrology. No matter how accurate it may seem. It is God Himself that plans your steps!
9. Reiki Healing — Demonic witchcraft…you might as well visit a witchdoctor! Same thing. These things access the wrong type of supernatural power and are forbidden by God for a reason. You may go to one for healing from headaches, and the headaches will go away, but then you start having issues in your stomach. Reiki healers merely transfer the demon that is causing your issue to another part of your body, and the fact that you sought help from a witch instead of from God (which is forbidden by God for many reasons) will also open up an access door to the demonic and you may begin to experience torment in your mind or in many other ways.
10. Psychic readings, tea leaf readings, palm reading, handwriting analysis, and tarot card readings — All witchcraft is an illegal access point to the supernatural, and they are counterfeit. the same as I said about Astrology, it is God that sets your destiny, and writes down the plan for your life. Not the universe, the stars, or the planets! Opening up yourself to divination gives demons immediate permission to control certain aspects of your life, which is always a double edged sword. Anything that seems good in witchcraft, will ALWAYS turn bad, and it will invite something worse than what it is supposed to fix or correct. Do not entertain these types of readings! No matter how accurate it may seem. It is God Himself that plans your steps! Receiving a reading from a diviner, will give demons permission to go and cause things to happen. And as I said, that NEVER ends well!
11. Participating in Seances or attempting to 'communicate with the dead' — You aren’t talking to a deceased loved one. You are speaking to a familiar spirit which is actually a demon that knows everything about the person you wrongly think you are communicating with. Even if the voice seems pure and good, it’s not. Do not be deceived by this witchcraft!
12. 'Ghost' Hunting (including using EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) — Attempting to record 'ghosts/spirits' on a voice recording device - it’s a doorway to the demonic. It’s witchcraft, and an illegal access point to the spirit realm.
13. Watching horror movies or reading horror books — Invites the spirit of fear.
14. *Pornography — This makes sexual agreements with demons, and this can also invite spirits of shame and fear. Often times, sleep paralysis that takes place when this is the doorway of entry, it may be sexual in nature. Please read the following section on 'Spirit Spouses' to learn more.
15. *Masturbation — This makes sexual agreements with demons, and this can also invite spirits of shame and fear. Often times, sleep paralysis that takes place when this is the doorway of entry, it may be sexual in nature. As I already stated, I will soon be adding a section on 'Spirit Spouses' which may help you understand some of the things that may be happening to you.
16. Traumatic experiences/Grief/Loss/Near Death Experiences — These events can sometimes inadvertently open a door to a trauma spirit or a fear spirit, especially if you are struggling with spirits of guilt and/or shame as a result of what took place.

Plainly put, when you experience or participate in one or more of these activities, you are giving spirits (demons) permission to enter into and access your life. Regardless of whether or not your initial interaction with one of these activities was 'casual' or serious, or if it was ‘just one time’ — when you participate in these activities you are, as a result, entering into an agreement with a demon (or demons). Your agreed participation then gives them PERMISSION to have access to you in one way or another. And one of the times that you are the most spiritually vulnerable is when you are asleep! So you may experience one of these demons literally sitting on your chest and asserting his assumed authority over you while you're sleeping!

Ok, so a fair question after all of this information would now be...

HOW DO I STOP SLEEP PARALYSIS ATTACKS FROM HAPPENING?

First, before we move forward, I must ask you if yoiu have made the decision to give your heart to Jesus. In a little while, I will be giving you a prayer that you can pray to break free of these attacks. however, if you have not yet given your life to Christ, and have not repented from the sin that may have opened any of the doors that invited these attacks, then you cannot truly be free. Maybe you made the decision to invite Jesus into your heart a long time ago, but have since drifted aware from Him and somewhere along the way you got involved in something on the list that we discussed...I invite you to come back to Jesus, and repent of anything that you have done that was not pleasing to Him, and recommit your life to Him.

PRAYER FOR SALVATION

"Jesus, I invite you to come into my life. Please come into my heart and make me brand new by your Holy Spirit. I ask that you would forgive me for all of the sins that I committed in my life. I repent from those sins and also repent of doing anything that opened the door to the demons of sleep paralysis (and even incubus and succubus). 

I completely turn my life over to you, and I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins, and that He rose to life again. So now I confess that Jesus Christ is my Lord, I am born again, and I am on my way to Heaven! Thank you, Lord, for saving me now!"

And now as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I tell you that your sins are forgiven and you are saved! Remember to always run to Jesus, and never away from Him.

PRAYER TO CLOSE EVERY DEMONIC ACCESS DOOR AND STOP SLEEP PARALYSIS ATTACKS

[IMPORTANT: YOU MUST PRAY OUT LOUD. YOU CANNOT DO SPIRITUAL WARFARE SILENTLY WITHIN YOUR HEAD!]

"God, I ask for your total forgiveness for any of the things that I did that opened up a door to these demons. 

I rebuke, bind, and command the following spirits/demons to leave: every spirit of witchcraft and the occult, oppression, depression, fear, terror, heaviness, fatigue, and exhaustion! I bind up and cast out the demon that causes sleep paralysis! I bind up and cast out the demons incubus and succubus, and all demons of sexual perversion!

I command all of you to leave NOW in the mighty Name of Jesus, and I command every single demon that is connected to these demons in any way, shape, or form to get out now! You are cut off, I close the door to you, I sever all ties to you, and I cancel every invitation to you. 

Jesus Christ is Lord of my life, and Satan is not!

I dig up every demonic seed that was planted in my life and command those seeds and all demonic spiritual children to GET OUT OF MY LIFE IN THE NAME OF JESUS! I plead the blood of Jesus over every spiritual corner of my life that was infiltrated by these demons. I tell every demon to go to God now and be immediately judged! I for it you from returning and I forbid you from even so much as attempting to cause any further harm to me, my home, my family, my pets, my friends, or anyone else in Jesus Name!

Holy Spirit, I invite you to move in my life and purify me body, soul, mind, and spirit. I invite your joy, praise, and every blessing into my life!

May the blood of Jesus insulate me everywhere that I am, and block any further demonic attack from reaching me! Even at night!

Satan, you will not assign anymore of your demons to me at night (or during the day), and right now I take authority over you and all of your demons! Because "greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world"!

May there be total confusion in the camp of the enemy! They won't be able to find me or attack me ever again!

Thank you Jesus for covering me with your precious blood, and for hiding me from the attacks of the enemy.
